How does an HRV works?
1
Air intake and exhaust
The HRV system pulls stale air from inside your home (such as from bathrooms, kitchens, or laundry rooms) and expels it outdoors. Simultaneously, it draws fresh air from the outside into the home.
2
Heat exchange
As the stale indoor air and fresh outdoor air pass through the heat exchange core, the HRV system transfers heat from the outgoing air to the incoming air. In winter, this helps warm the cold incoming air, while in summer, it can help cool the incoming air.
3
Ventilation
The HRV’s fans circulate the air throughout the home, ensuring a constant flow of fresh, filtered air while maintaining a comfortable temperature.
4
Energy Efficiency
By recovering heat or coolness from the outgoing air, the HRV minimizes the need for extra heating or cooling, making it a highly efficient system that lowers energy consumption.
